‘Another lie’: MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace smacks down Trump and Vance’s latest claims

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace paused after showing a clip of what she called the Oval Office “ambush” by President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit.
Specifically singling out Vance, Wallace said that since the election, he has “had access to the best intelligence in the world. He lied about Zelensky not thanking the American people. Here is that message of gratitude.”
She showed a clip of a speech Zelensky gave to a joint session of Congress in which he gushed over the reception he’s received from Americans.

“Again, before the disinformation from J.D. Vance in the Oval office spreads too far around the world, let me fact check some of that as well,” continued Wallace.
“Zelensky did not talk the United States of America into spending $350 billion. That is inaccurate. The overall U.S. response to the war in Ukraine has totaled $183 billion from Russia’s full-scale invasion. And that is a figure through September 30th that includes $46.5 billion for increased U.S. military activity in Europe. The United States has not spent $200 billion more than Europe. That’s another lie today told to an American ally. That is inaccurate. The United States has allocated $18 billion less for Ukraine than the total allotted by European donors between February of 2022 and December of 2024.”
Previously, Trump has falsely said Zelensky was responsible for the war, which has been fact-checked several times, remarking that Russia began its invasion in 2014, with the armed occupation and unlawful annexation of Crimea.
