Arab negotiators are trying to broker a ceasefire deal that would avert a return to fighting in Gaza and begin serious negotiations toward a formal end of the war, since the breakdown of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal at the beginning of the month.

Arab mediators are working to reach a new Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal that would secure the release of 12 living hostages out of the 24 still believed to be held alive by Hamas in Gaza.
